    Bucknut's 2018 finds...

2018 was a great year for me! I had a few personal bests and bucket listers and overall just a fun year detecting.

I bought an Equinox 800 which is known for finding the low tones so lets look at my nickels first. I found a personal best 25 war niks and a personal best 11 V niks. Also found 27 buffs which is 1 shy of a personal best. Oh and 1 Shield Nik which is a best as well. So yes the Equinox is a nickel slayer!

I found 85 silver coins this year which is my lowest in 7 years BUT I think 85 is still pretty good...especially since I hunt public parks. 82 of the 85 silvers were found in those public spots.

Here is my crotal bell display. We do not have him wearing it any more though but it was cool to hear the bells ring again. "Habs" is almost 400 lbs now and growing fast!

Finally here is my pile of 40 buttons that my kids and I dug together this summer that are all from the War of 1812. That was a special time for all of us. My mom found 2-3 more a few days later after we left. Looking forward to next summer already...might start digging all the iron in hopes of finding a cool relic (or 40)!

    Truly amazing, Bucknut!
The first thing I noticed when I got my nox was its nickel power! I'm not certain why it can VDI nickels at a perfect 13 but has a hard time locking on pennies and dimes. That 1832 is SWEEEEET!!...and the buttons are among the best finds ever posted on the forum!! Congratulations on a wonderful year...and here's to many more!!

That is an impressive pile of coins. I don't think I have ever seen a 50 cent silver posted before. I would definitely say you had a great year. Congrats and good luck in 2019. I have 40m degrees Saturday so I may give 2019 a try. Congrats WD

Holy hell Bucknut!!! That is an AMAZING pile of goodies. I don't even know where to start! Capped Bust, Spanish, more war nickels in one year than I have found in 10 years! I'm drooling with envy. The War of 1812 buttons are museum worthy! You had an awesome year! Congrats and I hope you do even better in 2019. Happy hunting, Dave.
