What does the bottom look like? Is it hollow or solid? Does it look like the top would come off? Any markings on it?

Is the piece hollow? Could it be a bell?

Is the piece hollow? Could it be a bell or a bell clapper? Or could it be part of a wind chime?

I just read your original post again. I thought I read larger dimensions and that is why I thought bell or wind chime but the small size makes me think of a charm for a bracelet or something like that.
