    Fugio

Picked up a new coil and wanted to try it out before it gets too hot and gross (once it gets above 65 degrees I start complaining). Hiked to my "test" site where there are no easy finds to be had to see what the new coil could do. The site was true to form and only gave up a super deep musket ball. But just zigzagging through the woods on my way out I was fortunate to put my coil over a Fugio.

There was enough detail left to allow me to identify it as the "Toasted" variety. Toasted or not, I'll take it.

    Thanks gents.

Yep Dan. I picked up an 11" X35. I am going to put it through its paces at some tough sites to see what it is capable of.

Nice find. I don't think I will ever find a coin like that down here. I won an X35 11" coil and took it on a test hunt today. I had a hard time with it to be honest. No matter what program I tried or what frequency I used I never could get my headphones to quit chattering. And, I had to take the headphones off and lay them on the ground away from me when I turned my White's TRX pin pointer on. I finally switched back to the standard 11" coil to finish the hunt.
My wife does all the driving, I just hold the steering wheel!

That's odd fyrffytr. The X35 is supposed to run quieter that the old LF coils. Mine ran quiet even when I cranked up TX and Sensitivity. I'm using Version 5.21.

Dan, I picked up the 11" X35 because it should suit my needs 90% of the time. My HF 9" will cover the rest. The X35's 4 to 25 kHz range is perfect for me. Plus the Boost function at 4 kHz got my attention. I found a lot of coppers at 3 kHz with the DFX. I am hoping the Boost will sniff out some extra deep coppers. I also like the fact you can use TX3 at 25 kHz. We shall see. I can't credit this recent Fugio to the X35 as it would have been found with any coil.

So......have you picked up a Deus or considering one ?

Jeff I almost got one a couple of months ago but acquired some unexpected Vet bills for our sheltie and then bought a few new toys for another hobby but its still on my list to get before the fall if all goes well. I was leaning toward the elliptical HF coil myself but have heard good things about the x-35.

Just wanted to apologize for hijacking this thread. I should have started my own. Sorry.

Dogs and hobbies do tend to drain the savings account. But they are both worth it. I'll give the X35 a good workout and give you my opinion Dan before you make the leap.
