Big silver and then 30 inches of silver!!

Below are my finds that I have made here and there over the past couple months. These have been piling up on my dresser and now it is time to post and put them away. There are a few more marbles for my collection and then what I am 99% sure is a minie ball. It would be my first if it is one.

Last week I found my 2nd silver half of the year at the same spot I found my first of the year. This one is a 1942 D Walker.

Then I had a huge surprise yesterday during my lunch break. I was detecting my nearby park hoping for old nickels when I got a big nickel type signal and out popped a BIG chain! My first thought was that it was junk but it wiped cleaned and I could see "Italy" and "925". This thing is 30.25'' long and weighs in at 1.8 oz!!

Nice hunting Jared! Always great to see old silver like yours. But that chain is something else! It's hard to believe someone can lose a big chunk of metal like that and not notice right away. But I've found a couple myself and always wondered about that.

Great finds. To me fall hunting is the best till the BIG "S" shows up. We were spared the snow but it is not a pretty day today wet and windy. Congrats on all the finds especially the HUGEE (Trumpesque) silver chain. WD

Nice finds Jared! Man, that silver chain...so large and heavy. Surprised someone could lose that.
