    1895 Barber Half!

    We've had some warm days around here so this morning I tried one of my fields. I could work a shovel into the ground and leverage out the frozen top layer. It's my second Barber Half this year. Happy New Year everyone!!

    Nice one Drew! It's odd to see you with something that big that isn't green.

    The only half I have ever found was a half of a dollar bill.
    Oldest find: 5,000 year old copper spearhead
    Oldest coin: 1699 William III halfpenny
    Purdiest coin: 1832 Capped Bust quarter
    Coolest find: USA button with blue threads still on shank

    Sweet! Nice way to end the year. Keeps the blood flowing and wishing for unfrozen ground throughout winter. Happy New Year!

    Wonderful find, Drew! Half Dollars from the 1800s don't turn up often. Congrats on the nice late season keeper!
