My oldest silver coin with a date

Hey diggers, Out digging at the 1794 battle site and stumbled across some coins lost in the early 1500's! My best one has the date 1509! It is a Schilling (1/2 Albus) from Cologne - Archdiocese of Philip II. It depicts St. Peter holding the key to heaven in his right hand. The key splits the date, 150 (key) 9. The coin is in great shape but was a weak strike so I'm also adding a pic from the Internet so you can get a better idea of what it looks like.

Super cool find there Dave. Finding a 511 year old coin must be thrilling. Condition looks great for a coin that old. Huge congrats on that one.

Hohum, Dave digs 500+ yr old silver...so what's new?
Hey, those examples seem weak...that must be a super rare coin!? The sides on your coin look better than the example...not cracked.
What were the other coins? Huge congrats!!

Yes! Dave definitely made top billing with that thrilling schilling!

Congrats on your oldest silver coin with a date, Dave! It seems that every day you set some kind of new record for yourself.

I can't even imagine what it's like holding a coin like that in my hand and wondering who lost it and what their like was like. Mind blowing!

Too awesome. I think I would have to sit down for awhile if I found something that old.
