    New Year

Well the first few hunts of the new year have been good ! The temps here in Connecticut have been well above average (with the exceptions of the last week or so) and have been out three times already !

January 1st Donnie and I got out with a couple good friends (twin brothers Rick & Ron) and their wives ( Melissa & Jessica) who also detect Name: Jan photo.jpg

Size: 44.4 KB , my only other finds at this site was an oxknob and a tombac button . Later on we had found a small site behind an existing home that had a very long driveway , I was hesitant on driving up these but Donnie wanted to ask (He's the man with the southern charm ) and he immediately worked his magic . The lady was pretty receptive and we both were blown away by "Bentley"Name: bentley.jpg

Jan 5th had us going back to the last site that produced the military buttons and the targets were very scarce I almost got skunked save for a small silver plated button Name: silver plated button.jpg

Jan 11th Donnie got a very unexpected and pleasant invite from Thiltzy (Todd) who hasn't been detecting lately since his bout with Lymes disease . Todd looked great and it was just like old times again in the woods , we hit a couple of pounded cellars one was huge !Name: 2nd shoe buckle cellar site .jpg

A couple of nice hunts there Dan. Shoe buckles and Fugios are standard fare for you of course. Nice buttons too. The only thing I hate worse than fighting through mountain laurel is fighting through autumn olive.

We have had a great start to the year and you have been on fire! Great finds and great times and I hope the weather breaks soon so we can continue. Also, I would like to mention that while I do have sort of a streak in turning on my Southern Charm to get permissions that it was your kind gesture of presenting Bentley's Mom and Dad a Dunkin Donuts gift card on our second visit to the site that was the even more awesome. Can't wait to get out again.

I didn't know that Thiltzy had a bout with Lymes disease. That's unfortunate. I hope he is doing better now. I'm glad he is back out doing what he loves.

Thank you Tony , its unfortunate but I've had a lot of friends that swing the coil diagnosed with Lymes . It comes with the territory and you have to protect yourself .

Starting out the year with a bang! I'll never flirt with those Fugio numbers
Aren't you in the two fugio in one hunt club? I think we might be the only members.
It's nice to hear from Todd again. Us Nutmeggers have to watch out for Lyme. I was misdiagnosed for years.
That dandy is a shocker! I've never seen one with that kind of design! Congrats on a great start!!!
