My Oldest Dog Tax Tag & Oldish RR Button

I got out for a few hours Saturday. Man, it was hot! I wasn't out long, but I did manage to find a few good finds.
The best of the day was an 1893 Streater dog tax tag. My oldest!! Then a nice Chicago Burlington & Quincy RR Button.
My only old coin of the day was a 1934 merc.

Great finds! Some of those 19th century dog tax tags can be quite valuable!

That button is awesome too! It cleaned up really well. I have never heard of the CB&Q railroad. What a cool piece of history you saved there!

Quality finds Don! Love both of those! Curious - do you or anyone else here know approximately when dog tax tags were first issued? My guess is 1880s/90s but no positive.
