    Early dagger hilt

Went back for a short 2 hour mop-up hunt at last week's undocumented small site (see my previous post). Only got a few other targets, one of which was a colonial or late 1700s/very early 1800s dagger hilt! I've seen videos of a few other folks in New England digging this style over the years, but this is my first.

That's what's called a "small sword" would have been about 18" Personal defence weapon. I have one just like it same size. Cool find
