    Last Digs of 2020

I have been heading out in to the woods almost every day the past week. Here are some of the finds over that time. With 4-5" of snow on the ground this morning, the next hunt may not be for awhile. Final hunt of the year got me two IHP's stuck together in the ground at about 9" in the woods. The Equinox sniffed them out no problem, they are 1868 & 1875, stuck together on the ONE CENT side.

Happy New Year All and HH!!

That is the coolest Indian Head spill I've ever seen! They must have been dropped in the 1870s because that 1875 looks minty fresh! Wow, super old Indian spill. I have found two or three in the same hole several times but they were never that old!

    Your photos are always terrific!

    Lifetime totals:
10 Large Cents, 415 Indian Heads, 2 Two Cent Pieces, 1 Capped Bust Half Dime, 1 Seated Half Dime, 10 Shield Nickels, 68 V Nickels, 124 Buffalo Nickels, 31 War Nickels, 16 Seated Dimes, 131 Barber Dimes, 405 Mercury Dimes, 249 Rosies, 4 Seated Quarters, 18 Barber Quarters, 20 Standing Liberty Quarters, 89 Silver Washingtons, 1 Seated Half, 3 Barber Halves, 16 Walking Liberty Halves

    Darren, that 1875 is sweet!!!
I love to find dogtags, and a pot pipe is still on my bucketlist
    Those tarp grommets sound wonderful.
Tokens are rare around here, although throw a rock alongside the root in that hole and I'd swear you were in New England
...and of course, the obligatory marble
You had a great year, my friend! Best of wishes for 2021!!

Thanks Tony! It was a pretty exciting dig, I checked the hole like four times after the IH’s hoping for silver friends, but none were there!

Super nice milco. I just love the Indian Head Cents. I think anymore I would rather pull an IHC than a Merc. Just me though. Plus the 1875 is gorgeous!

Wheat Cents are always a nice perk and really add up over the years. After the year is done, I think my average was pretty darn close to 1 silver coin to 4 Wheat cents.

    Congrats!
