    Etrac factory coil

Do coils ever go bad? I had trouble with my machine just a few weekends ago when the coil just simply quit working. But when I got home it started working again. I don’t understand why. I’m starting to lose faith in it and wondering if I need to replace it.

Although Don could have "fixed" it, it may have gone bad. Mine did and I sent it into Minelab and they replaced it for free and sent it back to me right away. I am sure I was still under warranty.
Detectors I use: Minelab Equinox 900 & Manticore
    Favorite finds I have made:

The coil on my E-Trac went bad too. It was chattering endlessly. It was no longer under warranty so I had to buy a new one.

Yeah they go bad. It might be cracked somewhere and getting moisture in it. Or the cable might be going bad too.

My old White's XLT coil went bad after 15 years. I just had a Deus coil go bad after three months.
