Last signal of the day = Silver Spill!

    Hello friends,
I spent 5 hours trudging through the forest and only found the odd musket ball and a couple of flat buttons. I was just about to give up and go home when I got a decent signal next to a fallen tree. It had been well over an hour since I had a good signal. Hearing a solid 62 on my XP Deus was music to my ears! A silver spill of 3 coins! Two 3 Kreuzers and one 1 Kreuzer. 1808, 1804, & 1801. These coins are only 28% silver and paper thin. They are the size of a dime and a half dime (just a whole lot thinner). You can tell the minting process was fairly sloppy back then too. All of these coins are from the Kingdom of Hessen-Darmstadt. Thanks for looking and happy digging!

They are pretty good looking considering paper thin and only 28% silver. Great way to end the day!

You find amazing stuff. An early 1800's silver spill, must be nice. Coins look pretty good as well considering the thickness and low silver content. Congrats on the great recoveries. WD
