    Rock Tumbler

It was 16 degrees this morning so I've been having fun with my new rock tumbler Dan suggested. I thought I could date the coronet, and wanted to see if the floral pattern on the dandy button would pop. So I threw those in, with about 20 other dandies. Darned if many of the shanks didn't break off ... but I came closer to dating the coin (1823?) and it looks like its marked!! So cool!! Also, that dandy is silver!!! You couldn't see ANY color before tumbling.

Drew I can clearly see the date on the LC. It is "IIV2" Cool etchings on that copper though. On the bright side, your buttons will display better with no shanks. What I like about the copper is it doesn't have that orange scrubbed look that you in coppers after some people tumble them. We need before and after pics next time!
Oldest find: 5,000 year old copper spearhead
Oldest coin: 1699 William III halfpenny
Purdiest coin: 1832 Capped Bust quarter
Coolest find: USA button with blue threads still on shank

The more weight you put into the tumbler the more likely shanks will break unfortunately . Very unique markings on the large cent , Drew .
