    A bigger nice surprise

Went back to the Park where I found the Barber Quarter and unfortunately a big downpour last night limited my area to hunt. Even so I detected around the outside of the outfield fence and found a Washington Quarter and a well masked Barber Half (13 D). You can see the rust in the photo. Only hunted about an hour as most of the area was drenched. The rest of the finds were clad. Hoping the area dries up so I can return this weekend. Wisconsin Digger The half coin is a President Token from the Montezuma Candy collection I believe. Bummer as I have never found one of those before.

Thx Drew, I cleaned it a bit so I'll see if my backup camera will take a decent pick. Probably one of the nicer Barber Halves I've found. Thx WD

Thx all it's been a very good week despite the weather. May have to go walleye fishing tomorrow but it is hard to not do some detecting after a week like this. WD

Wow WD, congrats on the Barber half! Those are the holy crap moments in our hobby. Tough choice between walleye fishing and metal detecting. For what it is worth, I stopped fishing in WI to concentrate on this hobby. Been going to Canada for many years and am now spoiled when it comes to fishing.

I used to go to Canada every year and it is definitely amazing, but spring fishing is pretty good especially when you don't even need to take a boat out. WD

good point WD. If you can river fish or hit the banks, I would do both in the same day. You are retired right???? The next day I would do the opposite just to change it up.

LOL WD. I was planning on going to a now dirt field near where I live to see if I can pluck my 4th silver half out the area, but this rain today has been brutal.
