we recently got turned onto another home site in the same field as the 1833 cabin site that we have been hunting.
I went out Easter Sunday for a few hours and dug a crusty 1856 Largie
I went back after work the next day with my son Alec.
I dug another one, this time an 1848. And a few buttons
Alec dug an 1842 Bank of Montreal Half Penny, an 1868 Indian and a few buttons Not bad for an hour and a half hunt!!

Those are some great finds! Not often do we see those big coppers in the Midwest, not to mention Canadian. I got lucky once and found a Canukian largie and half cent in the most unexpected of places (grass strip in town along a railroad track) so you just never know. Bet there's a lot more to be found there!
