    A nice gold ring!

I had a goal this year of doing more water detecting in the hopes of finding gold. I have been to a few beaches this summer and not found anything precious...just a lot of clad and trash. I think I have put in just 10 hours of beach detecting this year so I can't complain about not finding any silver or gold.

This past Saturday I visited a really small beach and after an hour or so I found a gold ring! The rush of a gold ring is so great. It has the word "Kuuipo" written on it which is Hawaiian for "sweetheart".

Wow Jared, that's a really sweet looking ring! You're right, seeing gold in the scoop is quite a rush. On the flip side is seeing gold and once in hand having the letdown of being fake.

Congratulations on an exceptionally cool ring. I'll bet you'll be hitting the beaches more often.
