Nice digs there Rebel. I have an identical "drawer pull" but I am not so sure it is a drawer pull. How would it attach to the drawer?
Oldest find: 5,000 year old copper spearhead
Oldest coin: 1699 William III halfpenny
Purdiest coin: 1832 Capped Bust quarter
Coolest find: USA button with blue threads still on shank

Congrats on the coin and buttons Roger . The brass "toggle" is a furniture "pull" whether to a cabinet , dresser or desk. I'll get a picture for you later on today Jeff but here is a link to various types of pulls . Nice job, Roger! This pic shows that common plate we find too. I thought those plates were saddle badges.

Beautifull buttons and two wonderful old nickels! Shield Nickels don't turn up too often and they are always fun to find.
That drawer pull is probably pretty old too.

That is a pretty decent Shield Nik. I have found lots of nickels but only a few Shields. Congrats on all the finds.

Hey Rebel, I was looking through my Bill Dancy Discovering Virginia Colonial Artifacts, he has an object that looks just like yours and he describes it as a bell clapper. A couple of pages later he has a selection of teardrop drawer pulls which more closely resemble the pic the Drew shows. The bell clappers tend to have a narrow striking edge compared to the smooth oval of a drawer pull.

Wow, Jeff! Nice ID! Roger, is yours rounded in the back or flat?

Hey pretty cool. It's around here somewhere but I think it's round all the way around.
