Just back from my trip to UK and Germany!

    Greetings friends,
As some of you know, I recently traveled to Europe for a detecting holiday. I was lucky that Tim (Ill Digger) was able to go with me. We had an amazing adventure! I have so many finds to show you, but I want to clean them up first. Here is a start though. By far, my best finds were not one, but TWO medieval spurs (on different days)! I have cleaned and conserved them so I thought I would share them with you here. The long skinny one is 1400's for sure but I am still researching the chunky one with all the engraving. I knew immediately I was digging spurs and dug so carefully with my little archeologist scraper so as not to damage them. Each one took over 20 minutes to dig up due to all the roots and rocks. Here is some pics. Thanks for looking and happy digging, Dave.

p.s. I will post more pics as I get them cleaned/conserved.

Spectacular finds, Dave! It is amazing how well they clean up! It is also interesting to think about the fact that the design and function of spurs really hasn't changed very much in 500+ years.

I can't wait to see your other finds!

Fantastic finds Dave! I'm impressed by your consistent quality level of electrolysis results. I also have an e-tank, but my results are quite varied and in some cases poor. Do you use any restorative wax or protection method after the bath to ensure the FEO2 doesn't come back?
