    Help with Id ...confimed Reale!

Dug this coin at 5 during a 45 min. hunt this am after 7 am hockey! Came up as a dime ...thought it was aluminum as it is very light and about the size of a nickle though much much thinner...similar to a reale.

Almost threw it in my pouch and of course I scratched it cleaning on my pants as i really thought it was junk. Tell u waht, I think this is and old one.

It has a crimping along the outer edge and has some lettering which I cant make out yet. The circled pic has an ND that is something I can confirm.

Any idea what I may have here. i know there are some experts here. It certainly is well worn but you can see a centralized image in the middle of the coin.

    Thanks much in advance..

    Aaron

    Re: Help with Id

    I think it's a 1 reale, Aaron.
If it's small, like a dime, it's a half reale, but since you said it's the size of a nickel, it's a 1 reale.
You can, very distinctly, see the crest/shield on the reverse.
    Here's a pic of a 1 reale that I dug. See the crest/shield?
That second pic shows where to find it's size of a reale (red circle). In this case, 8 R.

Dude, you found a reale! I can tell by the crest visible. Clean it very carefully and slowly!
