Fairground find - Davy Crockett pin

I did a little cleaning on the pin I found at the fairgrounds yesterday. Its a Davy Crockett pin, but have yet to be able to find this particular pin online yet.. I am pretty sure its from the 50's, maybe a premium, its pretty banged up, but still a neat find. Measure 3/8 inch x 1/2 inch

Cool find. Can you tell what metal it's made from? It really is eaten up bad, but I'd still be happy with it.

Those types of finds are really worth a lot in good shape. Regardless of its shape, it's still a great find.

Yeh, its pretty beat up, not surprising though, was found between livestock barns. Considering that area is mostlyriver rock & gravel.. and between humans & critters tromping on it for who knows how long, it in pretty good shape ... I guess lol

I wonder if they used to give them out in cereal boxes or Cracker Jacks or at the Shell station. That may help you find it on line. Still a very different piece. I've never seen one before.

I tried a search for them, and found similar items, but nothing that matched the find. They all listed them as pot-metal badges.
