    strange find

    found this in a school yard,rickm thinks it is a bullet

    What you have there Jim is a plain old car bulb base. As in marker or tail lights

    It does look kinda like a bulb but the pic isn't clear, if it's heavy like lead it's probably bullet but it does look more like a bulb to me from the pic.

    If it's lead, It looks live a variation of a Williams cleaner bullet.. ' civil war era'..Maybe the bottom extended part has sheared off..My guess, And i'm sticking with it !!

    Looking in the plain end of the thing should reveal the guts of a light bulb. If it is solid instead of open, then the auto light bulb gets sketchy. IMO, it the bulb base though. I dug a couple in my yard just like it. martin

    Howdy Folks!
    It's a bit tough to tell from the photo! Do you have macro on your camera? You might try shooting another photo in macro mode, and that might help.

    I have precisely one Williams cleaner bullet, got it at a competition hunt in Missouri.
    That item in the photo doesn't look to me similar, but I could be wrong.
    Hope you figure it out though.

    If it is a light bulb base it should have a little spot( like a metal dot --)extended on each side where it fits in the slots in the bulb housing.

    this is not- i repeat a light bulb for goodness sake,it is heavy and lead ,i have never heard of a williams ,but i believe that is as good an answer as any thank you all for your replies thanks BILL why didn't think of that in the first place.
