    Not happy....

I have shared this with the other forums I'm affiliated with and thought I should share this here with those who contributed this year...

So, I get a message on Youtube about Clad for kids from this guy... He goes by Grizzlygroundswell ... I kinda knew what to expect by his name. He first sent a message because he wanted to interview me for his magazine. Mind you I haven't checked my messages on Youtube for quite a while, but I kinda feel like he undermined me here... WTfruit. I don't and can't subscribe to his ideology that he espoused in his blogs and umpteen site he owns... but he bought out the rights of Clad for kids? I really don't know what to think of this post...

Clad for Kids What a great idea!

I just launched my Theodore Media site that contains GrizzlyRelic.com, GrizzlyTreasure.com, BackyardTemerity.com (blog) and GrizzlyBackyard.com Also my online magazine TemerityMagazine.com

It has a forum, chat and all the fun tools that bring metal detectorists together.

I really love your idea of Clad for Kids and I went ahead and purchased www.cladforkids.com and .org. I would like to offer your idea a home on my site using these url's.

I am not sure if you have filed for the non profit business entity yet, but I can assist you with that and with a website home, you may see your idea blossom.

As a Conservative, I have the url GrizzlyCharity.com and this idea of yours fits perfectly into this idea that Charity always trumps socialism, and is in fact the motivation for building wealth.

In your video you stated that this sprung forth on other forums and I think you should foster those relationships as well as have a site or home of this entities own.

I hope you can accept this opportunity. If not, the url's can be sold for at fair market price after 6 months to your organization if you choose to host them else where. I don't want you to think I am holding them hostage. I just see great promise in you and this idea. I know it would flourish within my system I have been building now since July 27, 2007.

I only know what I saw on your video so my questions are:

    1. Have you set this project up as a 501 non profit yet? If not, that can easily be done. Then legally you can accept donations and really get Grizzly with realizing your dream.

    2. I host my sites at Temeritydomains.com so any site is possible. Would a static website with all the correct contact info, photo's and such suffice or would you be more interested in a blog? I can interlace it within Theodore Media so it benefits from the entire system and yet still stay an entity onto itself. Or it can be hosted on its own and just interlinked. Either way is pretty simple but the benefit of interlacing it within the system would mean greater visibility and reach.

    3. I would like to work with you on this project and serve as a board member but it is not a necessity. I humbly offer my expertise to this great idea.

I imagine you have a hundred questions as well so here is my contact information:

    Re: Not happy....

I decided to respond... I hope I made myself clear enough...

    Hi Chad,
I must admit that I am a bit taken back by all this and don't really know how to take it. The Clad for Kids program was set up to be something small that could easily be managed by my wife and I during the Christmas season. I have had offers before to develop a website for the program, but I have chose not to in the past. I devote 2 months out of my year to run this program and make it a success and with the growth of nearly tripling this past year, it may have reached its size limit. I have discussed this with many of my donors and they are in agreement with me that it is not the time to persue such an endeavor. There are concerns that have come about also. I am pretty sure that you have the best of intentions in mind with the offer you have made, but considerations for all involved must be taken into account. I have maintained this program as apolitical without judgement of reason for need, simply keeping the needs of the kids in mind. If I'm being honest, I was a bit taken back that you had purchased the domains of cladforkids.com/org... I want you to know that I respect your political affiliations, but I wasn't expecting to have my program linked to political websites. I hope you understand that I utilize several resources to find recipients for this program that involve the local schools. My concerns are...If folks would do a google search on Clad for kids, I truly wouldn't want it linked to a political website....that is the farthest thing from my intentions of this program. Secondly, my donors are a close knit bunch of folks that have expressed concerns about donating in the future because of being steered in the wrong directions. This program has been a success becaue the folks that donate, know and trust me to do this in good faith. I don't have a board of directors...it's just me and my wife trying to help out some folks in our small way. I don't have a problem telling the story of the program because it is my goal to have others adopt the model of Clad for Kids in their own areas. As stated before, I think you had the best of intentions, but it simply isn't for me at this point. I work two jobs being a substitute teacher by day and a second job at night. We work really hard each year to help as many people as possible and I'm proud of the folks that have helped to make this a success. I would gladly tell my story to you or anyone that would like to publish it, but I kindly ask that you would make the websites with the name Cladforkids inactive for reasons stated above.

    Re: Not happy....

This is the message he sent me today...

Thank God! I did not know if I was going to be able to get a hold of you!

I really want to do an interview with you about Clad For Kids! I think that is an awesome idea! And you have been running it for two years now!

Then there is your metal detecting and youtube channel I could interview you about or you could write the article and submit it yourself!

I am planning on publishing Temerity Magazine at the end of Jan. Early Feb. if I can't herd everyone to get it in on time or if a great opportunity comes that I need to include in the magazine.

Did I send you a link to the editors preview of Temerity Magazine?

Hope you can do something to inform those who have helped you with your program that you are NOT associated with him in any way.

You don't need a domain name. He hopes to either draw you in now, or else to sell you the domain name for a fair market price once you realize that you need the domain.

You don't need an attorney. You just need to tell this person go get a life and leave you alone.

I would not give this person one word of response to this.

With his response...which was rather lackluster to say the least.. I'll just wait to see if he takes down the sites... either way, I'll just forget about it... I don't need or want a website for what we do... It has worked perfect for two straight years without a single problem... not many endeavors can say that! I'm happy just the way it is!

Brian... my advice is to just ignore him. He has nothing on you. Let him do whatever he wants with the site. It has nothing to do with you, and what you do.

    Re: Not happy....

Beefcake I'm sorry to hear about your dilemma, that very same guy has been trying to reel me in on utube for a while now, basically I pay no attention, he's written me some mighty extensive emails too, after seeing this, I'm going to block him on my email account for sure. I knew there was something fishy about this guy I could just feel it but I basically always ignored all his extensive invites to do this and that.

I think you can use your Clad for Kids each year like you have been Brian unless this guy can show a copyright to it and as said elsewhere, you have proof you used it before he ever came up with it!

Hey Brian. Keep every e mail he sent you. If this thing ever gets big on his end...he will owe you some money. He stole your idea and your name, even though it wasn't registered. In the end you would have a very good case against him. Timeline and usage is very important in Trademarks and Copyrights. Just hold on to everything! Besides if you ever wanted a domain name, there are ways to just slightly alter it and it would be yours. Domain buying and sitting on them has been going on for years. It's all about selling it to you for a huge profit. He's a jerk.

I agree with Coinnut....PLUS you have a copy of that Ohio detector magazine with an article on YOU and Clad For Kids. That makes it a plus in your favor that it is your idea and he stole it from you !!!!!!
