    Dayton Diggers On The Hunt

We had a little group hunt today, Doug, Paul and his brother Bill met up early this morning to hunt an old park that is tucked away in an old neighborhood. Did not do much there but clad. We decided to try out another park and had a bit more success, Doug got a wheat and a silver ring. After digging a lot of deep clad we went to the “old park” that has been good to us in the past. Bill found three wheats a 1910, 1913 and a 1940’s Paul ended up with a wheat and I found two a 1919 and a 1942-S. As usual Doug made the good find a beautiful 1864 Indian Head. So while the finds were not prolific we had a good time and saw a beautiful coin come out of the ground.

Nice coin Check the date carefully since there is an even rarer overdate (1864/1864) You can see the doubling in the 1 and 8 mostly. The 1 is actually lower than the other 1 on the overdate variety. Either way it's a nice coin!!
