    20 Eagle Buttons, 1 Hunt

Well, once again I feel very lucky to live in a part of the country where there are still some treasures to be rescued and respected. It has been so very hot that I got up at 4 am on Saturday and was swinging early. I even had to wear my light jacket for about an hour. I Started out in one of my usual hotspots and it wasn't long before I hit pay dirt. I found 18 General Service Eagle Buttons and 2 I Eagle Buttons. (worn by Infantry Officers, I'm told) One of them is even 7/8 instead of 3/4. Also I found a really cool tiny Crucifix that looks about as old as the other relics I'm finding, one unspent Cartridge and a suspender component. Not pictured was an old piece of iron wagon hitch, a toy gun & the 20th Eagle Button which I gave to the land owner. I'm telling you, these people are so accommodating and friendly, it blows my mind. Thanks for looking and keep swinging.

Great recoveries. If it weren't for the kindness of the landowners giving people like yourself permission to detect, all those relics would not have been found. Great hunt and congrats

No it wasn't a box of buttons. The place where I was hunting is near an old Fort. Lots of activity.

Wow! Nice bunch of finds Marty. You really have a special place there. The consistency with which you are pulling in great finds would indicate that you have quite the historic place on your hands. Congratulations on another great hunt.
