    WOW, What Happened ?

Talk about a dry spell....after having pretty good luck at old cellar holes my last four hunts haven't produced a single old coin, not one.

Am I the only one that runs into these type of dry spells.

Them spells, them spells, them dry spells... an oldie but not so goodie. It happens to all of us sooner or later. Better later than sooner. My Daddy used to to say it is what it is. Still beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Frank , dryspells are the dues we all have to pay sometimes in this hobby . everyone gets them at some point , my longest dryspell without a large copper was 7 months . the key is to not get frustrated and give up or start second guessing your machine's abilities , keep an optimistic attitude and you'll get through it . we all do

    Re: WOW, What Happened ?

Well at least I got out of mine. The last couple hunts have been slim picking but I'm still happy with what I found.

A 1928 Merc, 1917 Standing Liberty, 1897 IH, 1901 IH and a toasted LC. Now if I can get them downloaded to photobucket I'll post some pics.

I originally thought I had a 1917 SL because looking at the coin it apeared it has the exposed breast and the last number on the coin looked to be a 7. However, after looking at the picture, I can see the shoulder strap of the added chain vest, so I would guess it might be a 1927 if in fact the last number is a 7.

    Re: WOW, What Happened ?

I think I'm just coming out of a dry spell, but unfortunately Winter is coming. I actually went to a new site and normally I kill at those and I didn't find one coin (outside of clad) on my last two hunts there AND it was a 200 year old park! Ground was rough but I didn't understand it, oh well...

I have found 2 in my last 3 hunts, both on my last hunt (different park) and from an area I had already hit a bit. They were 1906 and 1941 (German coins). When it gets cold I don't have the motivation so early in the morning, perhaps an afternoon hunt is in order.

Good hunting guys, dry spells pass,
    Albert
