Dose anyone have info about this object? It is made of copper. Its diameter is about 2.5. The Indian coins are about the size of dimes and have TOTE spelled on there head bands. The larger Native in the center is very detialed and sticks out about .5 There was also some kind of stick pin on the back as if to wear it on a shirt or coat.
I found this in a yard at about 4 deep along with several coins all dating around 1910 1920. I have not been able to find out about this thing. All help would be great. Thanks for looking.

Looks to me like it wasn't manufactured in big numbers... making it all the better... and rare.

hey Handyman its a really cool looking piece and it looks like there is some kind of silver or gold gilt around the larger Indian image , is that correct how about a picture of the back to see how it was fastened which way the stick pin held the item and if it was soldered or brazed glued ,ect.

Hi, Yea I think you are right. It did have some sort of plating on it I think but it has mostly worn off. I will get a pic of the back and post it. The pin was braized on but it completely crumbled when I found the pice. I would like to find out if this was some sort of advertisement or promotion or what it was. Regardless its one of my most favorite finds. Thanks for looking

My guess is that is just about right! I 'm guessing 1910 or 1915ish. They look like good copies of an Indian Head Penny and it was real popular at the turn of the century to sport Egyptian or American Indian motifs

That is great, That seems to fit realy good. I had not been able to find a thing that fit. I noted that it seems to be based in Texas. I wonder how the piece traveled to KY. To me that is won of the great thing about detecting and finding things. If the objectes found could only tell there story. Thanks great work.

You're welcome. Once I Googled and got past the 8 million Tote bag and umbrella sales pitches, lol I was able to stumble on to that site. I think we need a separate section on the web for just research and information gathering....NO DEALERS ALLOWED!! rofl Won't happen But it would speed up finding things.

I had the honor of seeing this in person and was flabbergasted- it such a NEAT find! The pic does not do it justice! Not sure if it's obvious but it's really 3D, the face in the center juts out and I think that glint is the light shining off of it. Oh I just re-read your post and you mentioned that Handyman. But not the light part.
