A few hours Feb 8th with the GT on a saltwater beach

I took Feb 8th off to hunt a saltwater beach so I can learn the Sov GT. Only my second time using this Sovereign, both being at the same badly mineralized beach. I took home a vial of the reddest sand and there is plenty of black sand as well.

It was really fun using that GT on the beach and coins rang out so clear but nothing older than a '46 wheat cent. it's not uncommon to find old silver there. Some of the targets were crazy deep.

I've spent time in my yard learning the controls, ground balancing in all metal, working the iron mask on/off in a test plot that has iron I never dug and a coin planted in close proximity. Been workin 3 new detectors to see how fast or slow they recover near iron.
Just getting out Wednesday was great.

Looks like you found a few keepers at least. I have heard great things about the Sov GT from friends |

I know the Sovereign has a loyal following of devotees. I figured since I'm often near a saltwater beach I would get plenty of use from it. I'll probably give it a try farm fields this spring. I really am pleased at how deep it goes.
    Thanks!

You weren't kidding when you said red and black sand! Wow! Sov GT is perfect for that situation and all the black sand. Congrats!

Bart, glad you commented. I think the Sov GT is one of the few choices on this beach. It may be the best, though I have few more detectors to test there incl the V3i that I saw another person doing very well with. On the same beach are areas of predominantly black sand. The red sand is so dominant that the beach glows red in the sunlight. I like to include the details of some of my hunts because the conditions can be more important than the finds.
