This questions seems to come up often enough so I thought I would make this post. The following is the criteria to reach the different membership levels:

Candidate Members: 0 Posts
New Members: 15 Posts
Junior Members: 50 Posts
Full Member: 100 Posts
Senior Member: 500 Posts
Vetern Member: 1000 Posts
Elite Member: 2000 Posts

Happy posting everybody |:cheering:

Do your levels change automatically or does a moderator have to move you up? And thanks!

It should change automatically, although I'm not sure why you're still at the candidate level when you should now be a "New Member". Maybe the software just needs a little time to catch up.

I figured out why it still lists scootergirl as a "Candidate Member" even though she now has 25 posts. It seems that the membership levels changed when we converted the forum to the new software.

Here are the new membership levels:

Candidate Member: 0 Posts
Member: 30 Posts
Junior Member: 100 Posts
Full Member: 200 Posts
Senior Member: 500 Posts
Veteran Member: 1000 Posts
Elite Member: 2000 Posts

I was trying to find out why I'm still a "Candidate" member? Now, I understand due to the New Membership Levels. Just wondered because I sure don't feel like a Candidate. So, I'll just have to "jabber" a bit so I can feel like a Member, eh?

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ..........look at me with 502 posts , pats self on back...

Congratulations Lee. Now I have one more Ha Ha. Personally, I never really put much stock in Membership Levels. It's what people say, more than how much they say. You know what I mean??

It may set another new low temp record here in Aurora, CO tonight. I'm sure getting sick of this.

just FYI, did not get upgraded to member til i hit 30 posts, NOT 15. now i have 31, lol

You are correct. The criteria listed at the top is from when the forum was on the old VBulletin platform. It is inaccurate.

Here is the current criteria:

Candidate Member: 0 Posts
New Member: 30 Posts
Junior Member: 100 Posts
Full Member: 200 Posts
Senior Member: 500 Posts
Vetern Member: 1000 Posts
Elite Member: 2000 Posts

I think we need some additional membership levels. I of course have a few ideas.

5,000 posts = Distinguished Member
10,000 posts = Preeminent Member
20,000 posts = Transcendental Member
40,000 posts = Likely to be Divorced Member
50,000 posts = Needs an Intervention Member

I do research for a living and it seems the membership levels are out of order. I would think it SHOULD BE candidate member, junior member, MEMBER, etc. Junior member should come before member.

for example, i am a MEMBER now, that looks great. when i am promoted bec of 100 posts, i am now a Junior member. seems like a demotion rather than a promotion. so, i will try to keep my posts below 100 to stay a member and not move to junior. lol

"freshman member" didn't sound right but we opted to remove the first part ;)
