1899 Morgan and 1876 Seated Quarter

Still can't believe it!! <: I was lucky enough to find a Morgan last fall and figured I'd never
see one in the dirt again. Apparently lighting does strike twice.

Ron and I decided to hunt our 1855 homestead today. We have pulled many great coins from
here and the area still produces each time we go. Ron said we are up to 21 silvers
from this ground including Seateds, Barbers, Mercs and one 1835 Mexican 8 Reale. Plenty of
IH's and one Large Cent. It is an exciting place to search.

Today we both found a first. The 1876 is my first Seated quarter with lots of beautiful detail on her.
On a previous trip Ron was able to dig an 1853 quarter, so it was nice to join that club.
Today he pulled a first for him, a nice 1867 Shield nickel.

Believe it or not, but the Morgan was a horrible signal. Popping and hissing from almost every angle. Turned out,
my pinpoint was pulled off by a chunk of metal. The Morgan was in the wall of the hole almost straight up and down.

Found a couple of IH's too.

Earlier in the week we tried a new park quite a bit north of town. Ron's Barber was the only silver
coin from that day. But I did manage to pick up a silver hair barrette and a lone IH.

Best of luck this weekend everyone. thumbsup01

That does it. I'm giving up on parks and focusing on private property.

    Spectacular finds, Joe!

    Another Morgan! Incredible!

As cool as it is to find a Morgan Dollar, I actually think my favorite is the seated quarter! (I know, I'm weird!)

It's a real beauty! I'd love to see the back of it!

All three of the Indian Heads are really nice looking too, and the silver barrette is very cool as well!

Congratulations on your landmark day of hunting! |)

Here is the reverse. Tough to tell in the photo, but there is almost no wear on this coin.
