    Doodads and Fandangles

It got cold yesterday so I took the opportunity to go up to a tot lot at a local park for few hours, without being bugged by all the kids. I found a few good things, and a bunch of clad and trash.
This first doodad got my heart racing when I got it out of the hole thinking it might be gold. It's marked Japan and I think it's just plate.

My next find rang up as a half dollar at 6 inches. Really got my heart pumping because it even pinpointed all warbly like the good deep targets do. Turns out it was at 14 inches and not a half dollar but I wasn't to terribly disappointed.

Locks are one of my favorite finds.

Wow. The locks were made from 1870 until 1932. Clean it up real good. Maybe not a coin, but still it's a find worth saving.

I noticed this particular type of lock online going for 25 dollars without a key and 100 bucks with a key. So definitely worth saving. I'd hold onto it even if it wasn't worth anything. I just think it's neat.

Well I think it's a great find, a doodad and whatnot. I like fnding anything that is identifiable (besides just a strap of metal or piece of wire or a rusty nail). Very cool lock.
