Not anything exciting but, I am on a mission to find a silver coin on my property. My house was built in 1942. There has to be one dime here somewhere!!!!
Haha. I saw this thread explode and some of the crazy posts, I thought I had started a monster and bastardized this thread. Lucky it wasn't me this time. I'm here just like George:
And yes Drew, I know this state there should be anything 1800's or before that is possible to find. I thought the intent is what you should have found by now. Or you just taking a stab at not being very good at where I put my coil?
No...no disrespect intended Mango. ..and you're assured of breaking into the 1800s soon. If you ever want to head out this way we could get it over with quickly lol

Being relatively new to the hobby there's many ("haven't found yets" for me). I guess I'll keep it simple for now, a large cent or seated dime would be nice. Several of those in my coin collection, but certainly will be nice to actually dig one of those out of the ground.

Drew, I know you weren't tryin to start a bar fight. And if that was an unprovoked gesture, sure. PM me whenever.
....after your trip to Washington to plant Ska's IH for him. . Maybe I should start color coding my text 'cuz I jump back and forth between serious and joking.
I hope others start to find their elusive item.

A seated coin of any type is definitely on the list for me. Still haven't broken into the 1800s even! Hoping it comes soon!
Well, this was indeed a very interesting thread. As new as I am to detecting, I don't yet have a 'bucket list' of cool finds to find. Instead, I have a 'bucket' of iron finds! But reading what all of you 'pros' have on your wish list, I feel a little redeemed. I've ONLY found 3 old coins. 1 is a 1819 Large Cent Matron Head copper, 1 is a 1903 silver dime, and 1 is a 1905 V-Nickel. I found them very early in my detecting days, like day 1 and day 4 (1819 and 1903 in same hunt, within 15 minutes and 40 yrds of each other in a plowed field near my home). I wasn't looking for coins, was looking for the farmer's lost disc, so was walking briskly and not covering the ground thoroughly, because I figured I would visual the disc before detecting it.
This forum is magic! I have been on other forums for a while and didn't get any seated coins. But a couple weeks after joining AD and mentioning that I wanted to find a seated coin, I got my first!
Ok, let's try this again: a gold coin of any type is definitely on the list for me. Hoping it comes soon!
Work your magic AD!
Drew I have found a couple bucket list items since this post was started.
Of all things that have eluded me is a Barber Dime. For some reason I can't find one of them critters.

I`m still hoping to find a five cent older than a Jefferson.
