Just joined your group. I'm consumed with envy at the great stuff you Easterners find. I wish I could join your hunts (but I'd wait until the thaw, thank you)!

Welcome from South San Francisco CalGAil . Not too many of us Californians here .There's two I know personally who hunt rings around me
but haven't posted here in years and Plateman ( who I've never met ) who posts a lot of great jewelry and lots of coinage . Once in a while
(not very often) I'll find something I'll post but nothing like most of these folks . It's a great forum and I too envy the great finds that the East Coast and Midwestern folks post .
Hi Gail, welcome from western MA. Glad you found. How long you been detecting and what's your detector of choice. Looking forward to seeing your finds.

I've been detecting since 1999. Started with a White's, then Minelabs (Explorer, E-Trac, CTX [too heavy for me]) and finally a Deus. Around here I mostly hunt the parks. I used to hunt schools, but they are fenced now and locked as tight as a prison. I love hunting in the UK, as I did with Ill Digger, but the weather was such that I stayed in the house most of the time and watched Brit TV (it's as bad as ours) . You sound like a fun group and I'm glad tim told me about you.
Welcome CalGAil from the mitten state, Michigan. I've always thought it would be nice to hunt in California since I would think you would find more silver with San Francisco mint marks. Those are usually worth more. Also California has gold! When you can, show us some of your finds. feed the dream!

Welcome to the forum Gail. It was great meeting and detecting with you in England. Thanks for looking out for me and keeping me company when I wasn’t feeling too good. Too bad the weather wasn’t nicer for you, I was really hoping you could have gotten out more.
