    Boston Scrap Party

    Not a metal detecting find, but I thought some folks here might find this interesting.
    I was looking through an April, 1942 Life magazine and came across an article about a Boston "scrap" party.they were donating everything to the war effort. I hope you can read the captions under the pictures.

    It brings a tear to the eye, thinking of those historical items being junked, even if it was for a good cause.
