hello Tampaminelab and welcome to the forum , how long have you been detecting and what type of detecting do you like . from the user name i take it your around the Tampa Florida area . i agree its more fun to go out detecting with a friend.
Welcome tampaminelab! I've been around this forum just a tad longer than you, reside in Virginia but am a Tampa boy by origin, having lived all but the last 6 of my 51 years in Tampa.
In my late teens I had a relic of a metal detector that someone had given me, and used to go to Picnic Island at western tip of Tampa's peninsula and dig items related to Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders encampment there during the Spanish-American War. I always think back to that experience as my roots in this hobby, which I just recently re-entered.
I can't think of anyone down there to link you up with , but I wish you success in your endeavor. You might keep Picnic Island in mind, after confirming the city's good with the practice there. Back in the time of my digs there it wasn't developed as it is today.
I would , send plane tickets lol. Too cold in the northeast. Dan, you up to it. lol
Actually my dream is to go to England to hunt. I'll take Tampa though on the beach. Nice weather, nice scenary .I'm sure if you place an ad you'll get some replies.
I've been lucky the past few years to be able to spend a week on the beach at Naples during the middle of March. Never find much but I love the easy digging and the miles of coastline.
