Thread: Gold Coin!

    Gold Coin!

Went to a favorite old park today and got a big surprise. After detecting for 35 years I finally found my first gold coin. It's a 1871 half sovereign. Also found a couple of V nickels, a war nickel, buffalo, Merc and Indian, but who cares? I found a gold coin. Talk about a feeling of excitement. Glad I had a couple of buddies there with me. They were as excited as I was.

Congrats Don ! It felt awesome to be there with you when you found it... Actually, really not far from where you found it.

As I was telling you, watch your neck, I have been working on my shovel swing ! (I promise it won't hurt... too long)

It is a very well deserved find and it was fantastic to witness your emotions when you found it. Boy... You were waving your hands like crazy to us !

I also loved it when these 3 women stopped by at this very moment, saying : "Any luck?"

Ah...the bucket list. I just realized I had my 2014 finds in my signature. I've now updated it for 2015 and added this gold coin. It's the second coin I checked off the bucket list this year. The other was the Vermont Landscape.

Huge congrats on that coin. The shield on the back reminds me more of Spanish (Real) than it does English.

Talta...It intrigues me. There have been instances literally just walking away from the car into a site getting asked if We've had any luck. seriously?
