    War of 1812 script A 2nd Regt * CW eagle A cuff * 2- 1820's 1 pc eagles*2 coppers

I found 2 cellar holes and Todd agreed they looked good.it was quite the hike to the sites but at the end of the day walkin out it was all worth it.
get to 1st site.turn on machine.BAM! 1st target was a gorgeous War of 1812 script Artillery 2nd Regiment button.I have only dug one of these and lost it when i lived in upstate NY,so it's been on my wishlist for a long time. 2nd signal a foot away from button a matron head LC.todd hit a copper so the day was off to a good start!
we worked the site for most of the day got another matron head.some buttons and a civil war eagle "A" cuff button & a tiny cuff button we thought was a dove but looks like a eagle to me ?
targets were getting slim & it was gettin late and then it dawned on me about other site.Todd was like oh crap i forgot about it too!
We decided to walk down to it and wow was it overgrown with ferns.only a few small areas that were swingable and we hit a few buttons 2 of mine are 1820's? one piece convex eagle buttons.one is toasted bad.didn't realize it was military till i was cleaning my finds.the other is in decent shape.
the script A button took me 2 hours to clean, stubborn black waxy covering was so hard to remove.the edges flaked right off but the rest i had to use loop and perform surgery with a pick.
Todd did just as well as i did and makes for a great hunt when both walk out with pretty much equal finds.
Thanks Todd for a great hunt!

Nice buttons and coppers. The war of 1812 button cleaned up real nice. After seeing the picture of Todd among the ferns at the second site I see what you mean by "OVERGROWN".

And to think that I complain when the grass isn't cut short. It's amazing to me what you find in all that growth.

Awesome finds again Dave. You know it's a good day when you "forget" you have another cellar hole to check out.
