Found an awesome 1700s relic today on musket ball hill

    Hey diggers,
I was working a new area of the hill and got a screamer signal on the e-trac. I kept digging deeper and deeper and finally got the target at about 14 inches! Turns out it is a 1700's Nuremberg Nested Coin Weight container (called a house). It has hallmarks but I am not yet able to decipher them. It has a rooster, an old style "16" and what looks like the letter C. Inside is the number 8. The nested weights are all missing and the latch is broken but I LOVE it! Just Google "Nuremberg Nested Coin Weights" to see lots of pictures of similar ones.

That item just screams OLD. Looks to be in excellent shape except for the missing weights. The craftsmanship on it is amazing and I also love the old style lettering. Great find...
