I made an AMAZING find today!

    Hey Diggers,
I can't believe I dug this and didn't damage it! I was hunting an empty lot where I could tell an old house had been. The houses in that neighborhood are all circa 1880. I got a decent signal at 8 inches on my E-trac. It was a solid 12-35 and was repeatable in both directions. I dug down expecting to see an Indian Head Cent and instead popped out some sort of badge. I could tell it was stamped brass and I was surprised that both parts were there and the chain links were complete.

I got it home and cleaned it up. A little searching on Google and I learned it is a badge from the Knights Templar Conclave that was held in August 1895 in Boston Mass. Over 20,000 KT's attended from all around the country! Each KT Commandery had their own unique badge. Mine is for the Beauseant Commandery out of Malden, Mass.
