    LC Spill, GW Cuff

Dan and I met this morning for a hole that was across a bridgeless river and .5 miles into the forest. Someone already beat us. Dan got some signals but I swung for two hours with only a broken suspender clip to show for it. On the way out Dan found a hole that looked great but was even more pounded than the first one.
We drove down the road to a hole that I've been hitting this week with great results. It didn't disappoint. I dug a two LC coin spill (1831, 1837), and my first cut copper!
Oh, and Dan thought I might have dug my first GW button!! It sounded low and small. 67 on the T2. I dug it and thought it a regular cuff button. I threw it in my button pouch and continued. When we were at the cars Dan saw a bust on it and said it might be a GW. He said it probably was worn in 1832 on his 100th anniversary.
I think I saw one mosquito all day! We'll head back when the ferns die down. Thanks for looking!
PS I didn't have any idea that copper was holed until I tooth picked the crust off it.

Drew , I want to thank you for taking me to a couple of your spots today te last place is going to a great place to detect come this fall and especially next spring when all the ferns die down. huge congrats on the double coppers the button is the find of the day though , i'm having a hard time finding the exact type but i think its very close to a Jacksonian era Washington commemorative to celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth in 1832. the bust on this example looks close to yours but this button has the traditional "raised rim" that are so familiar on Jacksonian era buttons.

Congrats Drew. Sweet GW cuff button. The LC in the pic has some great detail.
