Here is a pic of it cleaned up a little. Really felt good to find it among all those gun shells.

Great looking silver ring with Malachite stone. One of my favorite stones due to the variety of patterns they can have. Great find Are those 50 caliber slugs there?

Yes they are 50Cal. At Salisbury there are two gun turret foundations that protected the entrance to the Merrimack River left over from WWII and it is not uncommon to find these on the beach when conditions are right. Next time there I'll take a pic of the site and post it. Should have done that today as I was there MD'ing. I've found one or two here or there in the past but a cut opened up and I hit a bunch, by the way the cut closed back up today

I found a bunch of the 50 cal slugs around here, and even a couple of shell casings. They are huge when put together.

What a great looking ring. Was probably lost when the owner was running from the firefight that left all those bullet casings.....

I really should qualify my statement. I HAVE found a gold ring recently, but it was a known lost ring that I was actually looking for. Finding it was exhilerating, and I was ecstatic to return it to it's owner. Now I'm waiting for the real surprise!

Here is a picture of one the foundations for the gun turrets at Salisbury Beach. These were placed on our coastline to protect the entrance to the Merrimack river during WWII. I'm told that during the war citizens were not allowed on the beach. Apparently we were defending against any possible invasion.

I would love to see a picture of this site from the time of WWII just to compare the difference in the surroundings.
