    New church permission

I obtained permission to detect an old church ground. I was using the CTX with the 17” coil figuring I would try and get the deep ones since I was positive this site had been detected before. I manage to get one silver a 64 Rosie and 9 wheats all from the 40’s except one was 1917. I came across and area that seemed to be fill dirt and was about to move on after a couple of shallow clad finds when I got a nice deep signal. I was thinking maybe Indian but to my surprise out popped a 1863 Civil War token “Our Army”. About 3 feet from that spot I got a similar signal and again to my surprise another 1863 CW token “Fredrick Miller Lager Beer”. A couple rare finds for my area. I’ve only found 3 prior to this hunt in 40 some years of detecting. I also found an interesting button. Some ID help on the button would be appreciated.

Jeff, just looking over the forum and realized we both found CW tokens about the same time. Funny how that happens! Here's the link to the page with your token: http://www.cwtoken.com/Civil_War_Tok..._-_Turban.html
Well done on that save! Can't wait until spring now the ground is too hard to dig.

No problem, I love the research almost as much as the finding. Funny how even retired you still have no time! I know the feeling though, got so much going on too. Working on my drone and house work kills almost all my time lately. Figure I've still got 10 years, 4 months and 6 days before even considering retirement.
