The first one of these I found this week didn't really peak my interest but when I found the second...I still didn't care.. lol ...but here they are, they have designs on them, which is really why I wondered what they were.

Drew, there have been battles waged over the identification of those over on TNet. I think the prevailing thought is it is saddle decoration related.

yeah even on the U.K. data base of finds list that as a strap guide , theres actually another piece sorta like a decorative staple looking piece that goes with those Drew. HEAVYMETALNUT is one of the few who have found both pieces together , maybe he'll post a picture of the one i'm talking about.
