Some of you may know that when I'm not metal detecting I enjoy my other hobby, which is collecting comic books. I am an avid fan of the medium and have been collecting them since 1976.

So I had to chuckle when I saw the cover of the latest issue of Sergio Aragones Funnies. Sergio is the guy who draws those little cartoons in the margins of Mad magazine, something he's been doing regularly since 1963. He is one of the most talented cartoonists in the business.

Here is the cover to the latest issue of his comic book. Pretty funny metal detecting gag! lol

That's great !! I guess this is one instance where the hole being left open is somewhat excusable .

That's a coincidence for sure, and funny lol

Have you ever seen metal detecting as the topic in any other comic books in your years of collecting?

The more I learn, the more I'm inclined to believe we're only scratching the surface of what's hidden. That's why I thought that cartoon was hysterical.
I'm ashamed to admit that around 1970 I read my first Mad mag and only laughed at one thing...Sergio's drawing of a dog pooping. I understood more as I got older.
