Todd called me saturday night & wanted to get out.I knew of a possible site near me that I wanted to locate and while looking at satellite images we saw a double stoned walled road on a trail off of the rd from this site on the map.the stone lined rd showed no homes there on the map but we had a hunch somethin may be up there.
we found the 1st site and was loaded with 1920's-30's garbage.it was a dumping ground and frustrating.i found the silver rosie there.we spent a few hours and made the trek up the other old rd.double walls way up started and we saw a couple breaks in the walls.no sign of a cellar hole at all. thinking we walked up there for nothing was the way it was looking.i saw some grape vines set back and a overgrown patch of barberries and decided to hop the wall and take a peek.in the middle of the bar berry buhes was a lone well  hmmmm i called Todd over and we got some iron hits around well.kept working the area and the 1st good signal was a shoe buckle frame! :wow: a few buttons started poppin and coins etc.we figured we stumbled onto a above ground cabin site ,clam shells, oyster shells & square nails pretty much confirmed a site.we both did pretty well.
I got 4 coppers. one is about as small as a half cent rang out 74 on the VDI you can just see a partial outline of some bust.a toasted unidentified copper,a NJ copper & a KG III,some old dandy buttons,a musketball,2 saddle shields the broken one has the prince of wales crest on it.a keg tap key,a thimble & my shish-ka-knob!
everything at this site is old,no trash other than iron. aside from the heat was a fun day of detecting!
