View Full Version : Uhhh? What is it.
lol lol I found this some time ago and now I'm interested in only what the heck it is. It's made out of lead and the size of a quarter. There's nothing on the back. Wax seal?

Could br a gaming chip, or maybe a trial strike from a button mold. If it was a lead seal I would think it would have some holes in the side for wires? Just some uneducated guesses though lol
:( Ahhh. What's the deal, one reply. Oh well, its not that exciting anyway.

Hey Sal. it's only been one day lol People have stuff to do ;) But it is exciting since that is really old writing on it. My guess early 1800's. (at the latest) Possibly Rev war, but just a hunch.
what is on it , it looks like 1B maybe it is a poker chip and its an abbreviation for 1 Bit denomination of currency
or it could be a measure weight

Hey Dan, I don't think that's a '1' in front of the B. It looks like that line is part of the B to me (you know... a fancy letter B drawn in outline form).
Yes, I know. That was really helpful information  lol
It could be almost anything. I tried to google it but it's hard to google something when you don't know what to call it
yea I think its just a B. I cleaned it up a little and it's definitely lead.

Interesting... but if no wires, I just cannot think of a use for it. Lead seals always have a way to attache the wires. RickO
Yea I guess its just one of those weird finds.

It looks like a button with the letter B on it, probably the first letter of the family last name.

Hi this is my first reply/post |) here nice to meet you all.
I take it there`s not a lot Drinkers here ,huh. IT really looks to me like a Salon Token .I forget exactly how they were valued , I think that when the cattle drive was finished, They could get a percentage of there payroll in tokes or maybe bonuses .I `m sure the locality`s all differed. Kinda like the drink paper tokes Casinos use today.
Go to THAT site That HAS anything an everything for sell . I perty sure thats where I came across em at.

Thats what we call here a discwaight.(in dutch a schijfgewicht).
The B is a simple stamp.16,17 OR 1800.
Hard to tell,ik think late 1700.
