Anyone know the about this style bullet? It's a two ring bullet found on the road near some cellar holes. The caliper I own I cannot find so I tried using a ruler with 64th's. It's just around 0.26-0.27", but that is after cleaning removing some of the oxidization. The bottom is not flat. I'm guessing sometime between 1850 and 1900.

The other piece I almost didn't dig because it was low like 55-60 like a zincoln. I guess it was on a pathway between the road and cellar hole near some buried rocks. It looks cut in half or thirds. It to me looks like it might be oval in shape. I thought the back looked like it possibly had some lettering but if so it is gone now and it looks fairly flat. It almost looks plated with a thicker than normal layer. You can see the tiny spots around the out side and there are 9 larger spots in the arch. I added an oval to show what I mean as possible shape altho I see its symmetrical as is, from top to bottom. Picture color looks drained after adding, but I don't have windows picture manager on this laptop to fix the color.

I added a weird piece I also found. It looks like something that would be on a zipper pull.

Jim the second brass item about how big is it ?? maybe putting a coin next to that as well . I'm thinking it wasn't oval but more rectangular like a shoe buckle . Some had rounded ends and were wide thick frames .

Ok Dan, here it is. Added the precision ruler I had to pic and coins as well. Obvi they are not US coins lol. But they are the same size as a US penny. I added the silver coin to show Bri a coin that really looks like it would be a game token.

Sure looks like a border for an opening (little more than half inch by your ruler) along that broken edge now that it's cleaned up. Can even see a corner.

Neat find in a place that's been detected to death.

Guess that is it, a broken buckle. I did notice the raised flat edge at the 'center' of the piece. What did you say before about ornate buckles? It was months ago, Obvi they were not every day things and used for dressing up, but I thought there was more to that fact.

Bri, I just superimposed a small section of the 1868 map onto a satellite image from google of said area. So the old school was close to the section where you were getting all that clad, or just in the wooded area right at the end of the field. It must have not had any cellar or it was really filled in.

I was hearing clad at that place even as I walked towards you when I had to leave. That place hasn't been detected since most of it was 3-4 inches down, and pretty concentrated in that one area. Plenty still there too. One of the quarters turned out to be a 65 (of course). Almost all the pennies were late 60's early 70's. Only 1 zinc. Even if you don't find the location of the old school, you have a great little spot close to home to wail on some coins if you only have an hour to swing. There's a lot of territory to cover too.
