I would like to research old sites just wondering if any of you had a good website or something just still fairly new to all this thanks and HH

I would recommend getting online and looking for plat maps from your area. In Iowa we have the IAgenweb project which is very handy as well. Hopefully Ohio has something similar.

Historic Map Works. Is a good one too.;)

my favorites are historic aerials and historic map works. historic aerial has a slide feature so you can see the exact location then and now. it goes back to 1939 in some cases.

Some counties have old maps of their area on their websites. Many also have online maps that show who owns what property which can make seeking permission much easier.

You happen to live in a state that has very good history sites. Most of what I know about areas in Kentucky came from your (Ohio Historical Society). I envy you.
