Dug this Ornate piece of Brass at an Late 1700's Home Site, If anyone has any idea on its time period please let me know!:thumbsup01:

because of the holes along the one side and its ornate design , i'd say its a good bet that this piece belongs to a victorian change purse.

That looks like a reasonable explanation of what it may be. Like many decorative pieces we find you may never know for sure.
