I went back to the farm today, hoping to find more evidence about this old tavern that was somewhere around. This is all I got in the 3hr hunt. I thought the button was different because it`s flat on the face yet fancy on the back. It says Treble Gilt Fine Gold. Any ideas on the age?

I don`t know what the square piece is, other than it`s heavy like brass .

Thanks guys, I `m hoping to find more stuff like this on the farm. The land haven't been tilled in years, I wish the owner could scape about a foot off the surface.
