Finding a Crotal Bell has been on my bucket list since I began metal detecting. After three long years, I've finally found one. It dates from the 16th to 17th Century and I'm so happy! And to think I found it on Friday the 13th!

We rarely go back to the 17th century around here, and I haven't heard of any 16th-century finds near me....that must be so awesome to hold something that old! Congrats!!

I've found coins dating back to the 1600's and some of my friends have found coins dating to the 1500's. I guess that's one of the perks being a metal detectorist in Bavaria! :)

The makers mark is "CL" and is dated to the 16th- 17th century.

Congrats on your cool first and incredibly old Crotal bell .It kind of looks like a cross between a cherry bomb and a hand grenade .Perhaps from a " Dark Ops" Bovine ? :lol:
